The WORST experience of my life! Ordered online through their website and waited an hour (as instructed) before going to pick it up. After waiting in line for quite a while, I finally got to the front to find they didn't have my order. There was hardly an apology and was told I could reorder everything which would take another hour to make. Since it had been nearly 2 hours at this point, I said I wanted my money back, but they said I needed to call the third party service who manages the online orders, which was just another inconvenience I had to endure. Unfortunately it didn't end there - after calling the third party the next day, apparently the restaurant was claiming I picked up the order and I had to contact them again to straighten it out. They again were not apologetic and offered nothing to make up for my inconvenience. I will never attempt to order from here again and hope others heed this waning.
A bunch of customers with no idea what happened to their orders, a bunch of unmarked but ready orders behind the counter... and absolutely no effort made to put the two together. Getting the lady behind the bar to acknowledge or respond to customers was like pulling teeth. It took ten or fifteen minutes (during which she addressed one or two customers) for her to get my number and start looking up my order... in the middle of which she wandered away, then maybe ten minutes later, brought me a piece of paper asking me to write down my number so she could look up my order. Couldn't find my order. Would not answer when I asked if she could look it up by name, email, or order number, simply handed me a paper and repeatedly told me to write what I'd ordered so she could place my order now by now (1 1/2 hours after the order was placed, eith average wait time an hour). Also would not answer when other customers in similar predicaments asked whether the website we'd ordered through was down or failing to transmit orders, so they'd at least know whether their orders were in the queue or not. Did I mention they don't enforce the Covid rules on indoor gatherings? People were pretty good about waiting in line outside and having only a few people inside when I arrived. By the time I left, though, there were maybe ten or fifteen people crammed into a space the size of an average bathroom. Part of it is that the entire ordering system is dysfunctional. They don't use names or order numbers or even the content of the order, and the orders just sit on the counter unlabeled, so nobody knows what the hell is up if there's more than one or two customers. But the other reviews saying that they have no freaking idea how to adapt to Covid, and that the staff are rude and uncommunicative, are spot on as well. TL/DR: this place is just comprehensively terrible. I'm sure the food is passable (never got a chance to find out), but there are lots of other Chinese restaurants and most of them aren't this kind of trainwreck. Give one of them a chance.
Horrible service. Food was ready on the counter but the rude lady at the register kept looking at some papers and wouldn't acknowledge me! No "hi or one second please" and I was the only person there. Kept telling her my food was on the counter she wouldn't give it to me(I know because the cans of soda I ordered were next to the bag). She was about to give me to me when the phone rang and ignored me again. I would've left but it was already paid thru BeyondMenu. Overall i spent almost 15 minutes until she gave me the bag I was pointing at from the very beginning. At the end the food was cold and greasy. The prices are affordable tho! But I'll stick with Jumbo Jumbo at College plaza up the street.
Food very good and inexpensive! Love that its right on 355. Very convienent

Great food and great service. This is my go to for dumplings.
My friend and I are regular customers! We always get the veggie dumplings and an egg drop soup. The dumplings are amazing 😍 and she loves the soup. I love the accompanying sauce and always get extra chili oil. Highly recommend!!
Best dumplings in the area!
Don't try to order take-out during COVID - this restaurant cannot adapt. I showed up to the restaurant 45 minutes after placing my order online. The waitress said she had no idea if my order had been received and refused to check on it. The entryway was full of angry customers who had all been waiting an hour. I could hear the phone ring several times while I was there and no one picked it up. I used to love this restaurant during normal times but clearly they can't handle take-out orders.
Great dumplings! We love the fish dumplings, which can be ordered fried or steamed, with cilantro or chives. In addition to the fish/veggie filling, each dumpling contains soup broth. The restaurant is open now for takeout, with limited seating indoors.
Dumplings are solid. Favorites are fish & cilantro and Mama's special. Always go steamed. Also: Social distancing protocols on point.
I arrive at this outstanding place from time to time as I enjoy the good air that is exist in this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and well trained. The service is extraordinarily quick. Most important, the food they prepare is great. I have been there many times and I was always happy. The rate is modest. I highly recommend this place to my friends and family.
Good price for high-quality dumplings. Funny, I told my non-Chinese coworkers about this good dumpling restaurant called “Mama Dumplings” and they couldn’t find it on the map. Only then did I find out its English name and Chinese name are totally different lol.
Delicious
This is really great Chinese food.
These dumplings are and have always been some of the best.
The food here is top notch of course... Everyone knows that this is the TOGO place for authentic Chinese dumplings. Yes... even though the name on Google maps is generic, they are actually known as "Mama's Dumplings" around town. I can attest to the authenticity of their dumplings. Growing up in a first generation Taiwanese household, I know the familiar scent of freshly boiled dumplings made from scratch. The waft of aroma as the plate of dumpling is set on the table brings me back to my childhood. Having said that, I must comment on the frostiness and lack of hospitality on the faces and behavior of the wait staff. They are very curt and in cases downright rude. One of the comments at our table was, "You know you're in an authentic chinese restaurant when they have no manners." For such a famous restaurant it really is a shame to see them behave so callously. Therefore while the food was great, the treatment was subpar, hence the 4 stars.
It was fantastic
The absolute best dumplings in DC area. Very authentic
Pork and chive dumplings Yum Yum😊
Dumplings.
Best dumplings in the DC metro area! Our family drives here from Northern Virginia and it's worth it every time. We actually don't like the signature dumplings, but have enjoyed the chicken & mushroom, beef & celery, pork & squash, and the special veggie with three fillings. In other dishes, their fragrant eggplant is on point. The pickled cabbage appetizer is a great starter to ready or cleanse the palate.
If you are a fan of Chinese dumplings this restaurant is for you. I have been enjoying their dumplings for a few years now. Generally I'm a vegetarian, but I make an occasional exception for dumplings. I've tried their vegetarian ones and they did not satisfy my dumpling craving at all. My family's favorites are the Mama's dumplings ( shrimp/pork/chicken blend) and the shrimp dumplings. Sometimes they are as juicy as soup dumpling so get ready to slurp! Sometimes I stick with being vegetarian and order a non-dumpling dish such as Salt and Pepper Tofu. We've tried some of the other non-dumpling dishes, but they have been a bit "meh," with oversweet sauces. My advice: stick with the dumplings!
The shop has been around for several years. The dumplings are delicious.
Nice and clean atmosphere, friendly staff, good selection of food. Don't miss the dumplings, they are delicious. Good portions and great for sharing. Bring a big group to taste the variety of dumplings they have.
Good food and service!
The food is amazing. I have been maybe 20 times. And every time I go the staff are rude
The dumplings are very good! We tried pork and scallion, whitefish, and shrimp dumplings.
I used to come here with my dad. Northern Chinese food. The chef would come and speak with him. Sadly both are gone. My son said the dumplings don't taste the same. Look 10 dollars a plate is not worth the hate the servers give you.
The dumplings are awesome. I highly recommend this place.
Local dumpling experts! An order is 12 pieces. There is about a dozen different varieties with pork, veggies, chicken, fish, or shrimp. There are other menu items as well, but dumplings are what you come here for. The cucumber salad does give the meal some dimension with flavor and texture, but be forewarned, it has a ton of garlic in it.
Long wait for great food. Go here or deliver. You’ll love it. I will drive 3+ hours for this place if that tells you anything.
Best dumplings!
Food was ok.
Best and most authentic
A solid Chinese food place!.. honestly, that could be my whole review. I ordered the black pepper chicken, and it was sweet and peppery and just tasty! Perhaps a bit too sweet, but not a surprise. I've had the General Tso's chicken here before, and it had excellent flavor though super sweet, but it's your fault if you order General Tso's and don't expect it to be sweet. Seriously. The stars of the menu are the dumplings, and they are good! I've only ever ordered the Mama's Dumplings, but that sings its praises more than I ever could convey. I love variety, and I can't not order the same dumplings every time. Tasty and delicious. I think I ate 8 tonight cuz they were so good. Personal note: gonna try not to eat 8 in a night. Hitting the gym more this week for it :P My wife reminds me that the sesame chicken and the orange chicken were also top notch, though not as good as the dumplings. The Lo Mein was ok.
The staff here is extremely unprofessional. They will often yell at clients and have a bad attitude.
Incredible authentic Chinese food
The dumpling is really delicious .
Excellent food, delicious, good service
Best dumplings in town!!
Mother dumplings, the northern type, a bit big.
Amazing food, lovely service. Cable recommend more strongly!
Sweet bustling service and excellent food at this cozy strip mall restaurant. The standouts were salt and pepper tofu, scallion pancakes, and of course dumplings. My large family ate quickly and comfortably with attentive servers bringing us dish after dish. Highly recommended for a weeknight family dinner when it’s too hot or you’re too busy to cook
Had pork with garlic sauce for the first time and it is very good!!! Cannot go wrong with the shui jiao (dumplings) and bubble tea tapioca has delicious flavor you cannot get anywhere else :)
Did not like the service. Felt rushed to leave. Dumplings watery and everyone else had water refilled except our table.
I really like this place, it has a lot of great Chinese dishes and generous portions. Mama's dumplings is an amazing choice. The staff could be perceived as rude, especially to Americans used to "Southern hospitality". I like the straight forward attitude. If you go for restaurants for great food, this place is great.
Best dumplings around
Amazing dumplings. The Mama's Special dumplings were great, but the Pork Squash dumplings were fantastic.
Good dumplings and a lot for the money.
